ajens in aurora, colorado will be back out at the movie theater combing the building for any clues into last week's deadly shooting spree. agents will also return to james holmes apartment, he is being held in solitaire confinement and is wearing a black plastic facie mask to prevent him from spitting at guards. survivors are saying holmes was not randomly shooting, but instead was shouting at victims, targeting specific people. several memorial services will be held today. the first frun ral serviuneral be held this friday. the 21-year-old pregnant woman who escaped the shooting spree delivered a baby boy.

world. take a look here. the video shows a trainer being dragged underwater by a 6,000 pound killer whale. that whale grabs the trainer by the foot and drags him under water for several minutes. it took about eight minutes for the trainer to break free. this happened during a live performance in san diego in 2006. the trainer did survive. pepsi says it will continue to advertise and sponsor penn state. this comes after state farm announced its pulling its ads in the wake of the jerry sandusky child sex abuse scandal. general motors says it is reconsidering its sponsorship deal and wall street is threatening to downgrade the school's credit rating. this news comes as the university works to remove joe paterno's legacy. construction workers took down the wall that stood behind the bronze statue of paterno. the statue was removed on sunday. we could get a sense today of whether congress will act to

keep your taxes from going up at the enof the year. the senate will hold a test vote on a bill to extend cuts for americans who earn less than $250,000 a year. democrats don't appear to have the 60 votes needed to advance the measure. it doesn't seem likely that va e republican tax break will be extended either. if a deal can't be reached, $600 billion in tax hikes and spending cuts would go into effect next year. animal rescue workers open $2,500 will help find the person who nearly killed a puppy. hershey is an 8-month-old pit bull. the humane society said somebody put him in a trash bag and tossed him from a car in upper marlboro last week. animal control officials picked him up and brought him to the shelter. rshey is underweight, has some paw problems likely from being locked in a cage.

already. delays start at i-95. as you pass new hampshire avenue, you will see volume. i can tell you once you get to coswell road, things looking good. heading over to i-66, heavy on the breaks eastbound at 50. you're sluggish all the way to the beltway. let's check traffic speeds. from fairfax county parkway as you drive to the beltway, about 37 miles per hour. pretty slow. that drive taking you about 16 minutes. also seeing delays on the rails. we'll talk details in ten minutes. eun? >> 6:32 now. amtrak wants to turn union station into a hub for high speed rail it will unveil an ambitious plan today to renovate the train station and transform the neighborhood around it but this vision may be far from becoming a reality any time soon. tracee wilkins is live at union station with details. >> reporter: that is not their hope. they're hope is that they will get funding from this project and it will move ahead.

as it stands, union station is the second busiest train station in the country with more than 100,000 people coming through here every day. right now officials say they're overcrowded, doing the best they can with what they have. today amtrak officials will announce a $7 billion transformation of the station. the company says the upgrade will triple capacity and make union station a high-speed rail hub for the northeast. the renovation will double the number of trains union station can accommodate. it's hard to believe, but some of union station's rail structures have not changed since 1907. amtrak spokesman says as it stands they are operating beyond capacity. in addition to adding trains, district-based developer ackridge released a statement saying the restructuring will include a 3 million square foot mixed use development that will include a new neighborhood. it will be built above the railyards north of the station.

the "washington post" reports that the proposal calls for the restructuring of the eighth street bridge as well. the paper also says there could be funding issues ahead for the $7 billion project since it appears they will need some federal money paying for it, and the federal government has not been giving up money for these transportation projects around the country. the good news is federal officials are expected to attend today's announcement along with local officials. reporting live outside union station, i'm tracee wilkins, new 4. today democratic leaders in the maryland house of delegate also meet in annapolis to try to come up with a compromise to expand gambling in the state. governor martin o'malley has been meeting with county and state leaders to bring a vegas-style casino to prince george's county. lawmakers are concerned about lowering the state's 57% tax rate. o'malley wants to reach a consensus before calling a special legislative session. arlington police investigating their first homicide in more than two years, and it appears to ab murder-suicide.

police say a family member found the couple dead inside their apartment at the park shirlington complex. this was yesterday afternoon. a neighbor told us that the couple, both 30 years old, lived there with their two young sons. investigators are searching trash bins behind that building for evidence. a babysitter is charged with the murder with an 11-month-old boy who died nine months ago. police arrested 20-year-old carol lutsky on monday. they say she was watching an 11-month-old in october. at the time lutsky said the boy became unresponsive. instead of calling 911, she took the baby to his mother who then was taken to the hospital where he died. an autopsy revealed that the baby died of blunt force trauma to the upper body. sources tell news 4 that lutsky was a family friend. d.c. police officers can no longer interfere or seize your camera if you are taking pictures of them while working. the new policy is as a result of

the lawsuit by the american civil liberties union. a young photographer said police detained him for taking pictures of a traffic stop two years ago. this is part of the settlement, the new policy. from now on, police are not allowed to take your camera or tell you to stop snapping pictures. officers are also banned from intentionally blocking your view. under this policy an officer can ize your cell phone if they think it has evidence but they need a search warrant before they]vwu8a$i0wxlixoèrtód04yç wheaton but with restrictions. the montgomery county council approved a compromise that will allow costco to build the station but with strings. the gas station must be 300 feet away from recreation areas and homes. that's less than the original 1,000 feet buffer zone. but costco will have to downsize th 16 pumps or move it.s station neighborhood groups have been fighting the original plans
